We have "counter butter" (like stuff we keep out in a butter dish for spreading on toast and the like). And in summer here, it'll go bad if it doesn't get used up in a week or so. But I've never had butter in the fridge go bad.That's what I was wondering. We do tend to use butter regularly so haven't had a problem but I've never seen a bit of mold or anything, even in butter that was older.
Caveat! I don't usually get it fresh, and if we do, it vanishes quickly.
