Oh, I forgot about okra! That’s a vegetable I like.

I have yet to try it, but I would if I came across it.

Or should I not?
You really should.

Pickled or fried. Do not eat it boiled.
I don’t like anything pickled, but fried okra is awesome if cooked right. I can’t handle boiled. That’s why fried also has to be done right. So it isn’t still slimy in the middle.

Don’t like pickled. Fried and slimy boiled is ok.

Wish I could fry it the way my mom did. Just a little batter on it and burned a little. She did squash the same and so good but I can’t replicate it.
The way my grandmother taught me is you mix flour and corn meal in a plastic bag. Rinse chopped okra in water, drop in the bag and shake to coat. Sauté in hot oil until starts to brown, then turn down the heat to finish frying out the inside without burning it too bad on the outside. Also good with some diced onion mixed in, or even some diced potatoes.

What about raw? It is a leafy green, correct?
Definitely not leafy, I saw someone already posted pictures. I have tried a bite raw and don’t like the hairy texture in the outside. It is hard to describe it accurately.
