I have this vision of like 6 years down the road some conversation like "well, she's only been giving us skin for a few months so we're going to try and add some more protein to her diet. We need at LEAST 2% from her"

That was another debate. That cow with the short tail was our 1st milk cow, she just didn't produce enough for her to be our main source. He toyed with the idea of breeding her so we could start milking her again but I think he would rather have her meat at this point.
