You were one of the cats.
I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell ya.You were one of the cats.
Flower KittyHippy cat.
That's quite interesting to me. I've never worked at a job where everyone was paid the same for the same role. Not even food service or piecework kind of gigs. There were always individualized little rewards for people to earn that changed their base pay in some way. In the states, the general mantra is "we don't talk about pay". it's a taboo thing. In Malta and Serbia (where I also have teams), they do talk about it quite often. Cultural and social differences I suppose. I absolutely do not pay all my people equally. Not even people in the same positions. They're all the same within a range, but even in the same roles I have different levels of experience and effort among team members. Folks who bust ass and those with tenure tend to pull higher pay. It isn't a "back room" thing and I do not discourage my teams from talking abut it, they just don't here because that's the social stigma.I have worked for 2 previous employers that made backroom deals with everyone. No one knew what the hell anyone else was paid, but pretty sure everyone was unpaid. Both employers were also Grade A a-holes. Coincidence? I think not.
Agreed. The closest we come is the percent raise.they just don't here because that's the social stigma
