I haven't ever had real strawberry shortcake. Sounds yummy though.

You need to make it and try it! I used to make it every year for my husband's birthday. It was his fave.

I've only ever had it with strawberries. I suggest cutting the strawberries the day before and putting a couple spoons of sugar in them. That helps them make their own juice then you have a slice of cake from heaven. My hubby likes to top his with Redi Whip but I hate that stuff so mine is just the cake and berries

Decided to make chicken and sausage gumbo. Instead of legs my wife got thighs. Thighs is making me feel all high falutant and what not. Obviously all the other stuff and start with a nice dark roux.

And and still hot French bread yeeeeaaaahhhh!!
