Yes, if we don’t catch them in a live trap we use a .177 air rifle with lead-free pellets.

Edited to add* we like having them around otherwise. Just not in the garden. That’s the only time we ever actually feel the need to do anything about them. Squirrels are way worse as a pest in comparison.

What kind of pellet? I've been trying to find a good lead free one.

One morning when I was making breakfast my 6-year-old came to me and told me that she found a tick crawling on her neck in the middle of the night. I asked her what she did with it and she said she came out to the kitchen and cut it in half with the butter knife!

Can anyone explain to me why people announce when they've skipped?

Probably feel a little guilty, like they're cheating somehow. At least that's how I feel because I'm skipping too.
