Oh I've definitely heard of a few of those, but never read any.

I definitely need to read Dune, LOTR and the Hobbit books.

Definitely Definitely Dune! Super good, though admittedly a bit detail heavy at times

The first movie ended right when things got interesting, which is bugging me, so I'll probably order Dune like right now

The first book is supposed to only be the 1st two movies, so there will be spoilers unfortunately

And the odds are that the movie and the book will deviate at the end. Herbert had some... Ideas about women, and it showed a bit in his writing unfortunately. The Dune series is still an incredible read but reading it again now vs when I devoured it at 14 I can see it.

Another great author is Neal Stephenson. Particularly "Snow Crash" He's not as prolific as some of the others but the man can tell a story.
