Which BYC member scares you?

Welcome, fellow methuselah of the innertubes. :) There's a couple kindred spirits lurking. This place is paradise compared to the truly wild west days of the internet, when you could still be fairly anon without having to peel the onion, so to speak. I remember goatse and rotten and somethingawful, or (this is a bit esoteric but legendary in many circles,)getting ripped to shreds on memo list at redhat, where "you're new here" was how pretty much every single flamey email started. Or vanity kills on pretty much every IRC network. Or "juarez" from usenet groups. And wardialing, and having an entire assigned routable class c and a dedicated T1 to my house. Good times.

Anyway, yeah, even our resident curmudgeons are rays of sunshine, whether they know it or not. :)
Do only super nerds speak these words?
Could you imagine how many of these we would go through each day nowadays?

I just started reading this thread... finally caught up more or less on the pet peeves...

I've been involved with computer connectivity before the Internet was a thing, you know, Usenet, FidoNet, RBBS, Compuserve, Prodigy? The thing is you are exactly right. There are some serious ruffians in the electronic world. I've seen nothing here more offensive than a strong opinion expressed a bit brusquely. Definitely nothing really scary. Of course, I have only been reading messages as a member for less than two months. Maybe, eventually, I will run up on something/someone scary!

Welcome again!

Ya I'll tag ya but things were fine.
That's why I'm curious why it was reported.
We have a snowflake amongst us.
As someone you'd probably consider a snowflake, No, that's insulting snowflakes. :p
