Which BYC member scares you?

We adopted her from a reputable shelter. She has all her shots and a clean bill of health. Really the concern is just whatever bacteria was in her mouth when she bit me.
Please take care of that. Looks nasty. I’d get rid of the cat too.

She's not mean. She just got frightened.
And she just demonstrated how getting frightened can be just as dangerous as being mean. I figure hell will freeze over before you get rid of that cat, but I would definitely say bye, bye, bye.

Grade 8 grad trip to Canada's Wonderland (think 6 Flags) was today. Somehow the boy managed to get a complete stranger to buy him a pink squid hat, which he then traded to a friend for a funnel cake, when he then traded to another friend for the final red squid hat. I'm kind of in awe. I have no idea where he gets his bargaining charisma from. Sure ain't from my side of the fam.

They just got her. I’m sure she won’t attack again once she gets more settled in and they learn more about her as well. She should get put down cause she got scared? Cause she probably will be if she goes back.

The only reason I got bitten was because I was holding her when the dog got in her space and freaked her out. She bit me because I was the thing restraining her and stopping her from getting away from that big scary dog. She's been so sweet and docile that I didn't even think she might be afraid of the dog so it was really my fault. She's an outdoor cat but I'm going to have to make sure to let her slowly get used to the dog, and definitely not while someone's holding her.

Yeah it’s totally understandable for her to be scared in that situation! Even Luna still hisses at unfamiliar dogs. She’s fine with Brew (although she still tells him off when he’s being rude 🤣) but a strange dog enters the room? Totally different behavior. She’s keeping her distance and hissing at them. And she likes dogs. Just not strange ones. So point being your cat’s reaction was totally understandable and expected even for most cats. Especially since she’s probably either never seen a dog before or the ones she has were also likely chasing her off from food and stuff like other stray dogs or maybe even she thinks he resembles a coyote or something. You never know. But all animals take a while to settle in. It’s to be expected.

Perhaps that's true, unless my kids were going to be put at risk. But Mr Isadora deserves more credit than that. He would get rid of an animal much quicker than I would.
