Well I can count a little and say a few words I learned when the kids were small and Dora stayed on constantly for a period. And that is more than I remember from when I took it school.

So for costa rica, you'll need to know how to order cervesas, get arrested, and which phrases will get you slapped AND arrested. The rest you can probably pick up on your own once you get there.
