They decide whether or not it goes against their rules. If so, it gets deleted and both the reporter and poster get a notification. If not, it's just ignored.

It’s not always that easy. Sometimes people just get their feelings hurt over nothing or dislike a person and report random posts. Obviously sometimes stuff is obvious and should/can be avoided but sometimes nobody knows why the post was deleted.
