My dad can do that. He just grabs whatever spices he thinks would be good and throws them in the dish. Always turns out amazing
This random lunch day before yesterday was pretty good.

I was about to boil the frozen brussel sprouts, but then I decided to fry them in some brown butter instead, then I ended up spicing it with whatever smelled good, then I thought a cream sauce might be nice, and then I saw some Parmesan cheese in the fridge😂
So I ended up having brown butter alfredo.

If you give Evangeline a Brussel sprout...

I never plan out spaghetti. That's reserved for the days when it's getting to be 6:00 and I have no idea what to cook for dinner 😂 Wish I meal planned better though. I just look to see what I have then go from there
It's a staple for us. I plan about half my menu and ask the fam for things they'd like to have for meals to fill in the rest. some kind of pasta with a red meat sauce or meatballs is always requested. I'll usually do that on golf practice nights where we're home later than normal and I want something fast.

I've tried that too and failed. I've tried that off and on for a few years. Doesn't really work... planning too far ahead. I mainly just do it 2-3 days in advance.
We started with a 30 day menu. It was too much. I get paid every 2 weeks so we do a 2 week menu and grocery shop one time (except sometimes milk. We go through a lot and I don't like it being around 2 weeks because it tends to go bad here in the desert pretty fast in summer) What I've discovered is that if I do not meal plan, we tend to spend significantly more on groceries (usually qickie junk food) and / or eat out more often. Those are both bad, so it's worth the time. Plus, I've been doing it for years now so it's routine. That always helps.
