Banks are the best. All federal and state holidays. Kinda miss that. Don't miss the garbage work conditions and corporate politics though, so there's a trade-off

We have 8 public paid holidays that everyone gets off, nationally.
New Year's Day
Good Friday
Victoria Day (in May)
Canada Day
Labour Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Boxing Day (Dec 26)

There is a 9th public holiday as well, that is taken either Remembrance Day (Nov 11) or a different day, depending on what province you are in. In Ontario we take it in February.

Everyone gets those off paid, with some rare exceptions. There are different rules for how an individual gets paid depending on their industry and position. Those who work in industries that don't get shut down get premium pay or paid time off in lieu.

Then there are federal aka bank holidays, that only certain people get. Government and bank employees and teachers, generally speaking. There are at least 4 of those. And some provinces have other holidays as well.

I worked at a place for a little while years ago that you got just one week off for vacation "without" pay after you had been there a year. It shut down on Xmas day and Thanksgiving Day but you did not get paid. The only other day off was opening day of deer (gun) season. It shut completely down and everyone got paid

Thank you. Ya Snowy is one of my favorites.
It was killing me that he was in transition from eclipse molt back to his normal.
Normally his whole head is that deep green color instead of that mess in the pics.
