Yes and no. I hit a deer or elk, it's fresh, I know what happened, and it's mine. Payback for the damage it invariably caused to my car. I'm not scraping 2 day possum off the blacktop and putting it in a pot though.

i'm still not taking the deer home. too busy being pissed about having to deal with either calling my insurance company or go shopping for a new car.

Does striking a body at high speed not do something that could potentially cause the meat to be inedible for human consumption? What if the liver or kidneys burst on impact, or any other icky organs that release bad things into the meat? And a stressful death usually makes meat tougher, yeah?
