Haven't done it in a while but I have been known to mix diced onions into the meat and then make burgers with it. That's a nice way to add them without extra mess
Blech. The texture of a raw onion is awful. If they are diced into oblivion and cooked into something I will eat them. But the second there is a big ol' slimy piece of onion in my mouth, I'm returning it to the person who cooked it. With force. I will tolerate a friend onion ring thing if there's about 5x the amount of delicious batter to onion. Unless, it's a Bloomin' Onion from Outback, in which case I will consume the entire thing.
