Cousins.same last names.
HIPPA was a BIG deal about ten years ago. Now still the law but not enforced as much, especially with Covid.I almost got in trouble over that.
Hospital worker wanted to know my relationship to patient. She's my girlfriend. Well, legally that causes issues. The correct answer is spouse. She also didn't like roommate, squeeze or a few of the others. Unfortunately, I aggravated her. But she didn't ask for me to prove that we were married.
I mean, same last names. Who goes to the ER to hang out?
Why do hospitals ask stupid questions? Don't respond with HIPPA. I don't like that either.
We have the opposite problem sometimes. Married with different last names. (Goseek & ChickI mean, same last names. Who goes to the ER to hang out?
I almost got nailed with that a few years back. I was prepping someone for a procedure by pulling the sheets back and shaving their groin. I "assumed" the person at the bedside was the spouse, but I asked anyway. It was a neighbor who gave them a ride!I mean, same last names. Who goes to the ER to hang out?

Yep. I can understand that. Although it doesn't raise eyebrows as much as it once did. Especially with two professionals in the house. We have the opposite problem sometimes. Married with different last names. (Goseek & Chick) Now that DD is grown it doesn't matter as much.
