34° here. Got the wood burner going over the weekend and all I want to do is camp out by it

I broke down and started a fire early this morning. Hey - I made it to mid November!

I wouldn't call it special, per se, but my dad had a stroke and was in the hospital for about a week so I'm up in New York with my family. He had surgery to put a stent in and he's back home and doing well.

Glad he's doing well. I miss my dad. Every day.

Oh, man. Hubby has this macho thing about making a fire. Our fireplace is our only heat source. The other day, homey had it 81° in the house.

That's Fahrenheit. Otherwise we'd be broiled.

Mostly. This is my 2nd time getting it. I was wishing for death for a 24 hr period last week. Feeling much better now. The sinus headache is no fun. But I want to go back to work! It's Holiday Wishes time. I endeavor to get every kid at our school what they want for the holidays.

And the scholarship application is due 12/16. My lazy seniors won't do it unless I'm in full boot camp sergeant mode.

And here I am. Doing a whole lot of not much.

I would have loved some rain 3 months ago. We didn't get any rain for a few months back home. I tried to pull some stakes out of the ground where we had a tarp in the yard for the kids waterslide and I was not strong enough since the clay was so hard.
