250w tank deicer in a bucket with horizontal nipples works really well for me.

i moved them up to a 10gal bucket this year so that i can go a full two weeks without having to fill their water up.

I looked into that, but couldn't find anywhere to buy the nipples in less than 20 count. I only need 4

We could smuggle you some. But extras are good to have. My cup waterers degraded in sunlight. The extras are handy.

The cups are on the side of a 55 gallon barrel collecting rain water from the quail coop. Refills itself.

Hasn't frozen in 5 years. Even during our last day long freeze. That was rough. So glad it only lasted a day.
