i don’t live in the city anymore. we’re in a rural-ish CT suburb about 30 miles from NYC

It was a LOT cheaper for us when we lived in suburbia. We're quite rural here. But California in general is expensive.

my place in the city wasn’t as big as our house now.

compared straight across, gas and electric are cheaper here than they were in nyc. con edison are complete crooks.
