No it wasn't racist. It was a comment about Chinese-made phone technology, which multiple governments, including yours and mine, recognize as being used for intellectual espionage.

She and I have had this conversation before, so she already knows my feelings on the issue. She herself is not Chinese. I was not making a comment about her heritage. Even if she was Chinese or Asian, I would never comment on her heritage. That is vile.

If you don't understand the context, which you clearly didn't, you should ask for clarification before making rash judgments and reporting things to mods. Not cool.
BBH is quick to judge. Just sayin

they’re necessary if you want a career in certain fields, though.

if my kids want to go down any of those paths (that’s if college even exists in 16 years…) then they can cut their teeth at community college before going somewhere better for their major.
That's what my son(11) will be doing. Community college to get his basics in, the a larger university for paleontology. He picked out U of Cincinnati years ago, we'll see if that still holds in 6 years

I can tell you from personal firsthand experience THAT college was teaching Marxist based "Political Science" courses sponsored by the Ford Foundation in 1973. I accidently took one thinking it was a true PoliSci class. I'm glad now I took it but I don't think they were.
Dude it was soo disgusting if the tables were flipped it would be on every news broadcast throughout the country. I taught her greyman (or greywoman don't want to mansplain). Do your thing do not talk politics remember why you're there and don't quit. Not only made to the other side but made it summa cum laude to kill it. She already has a job lined up soon to start as a high school science teacher. Real science with rocks and planets, and ****! She knows how that's probably going to be and ready for the challenge.

I majored in 'Earth Sciences' back in the day. Then I got a job washing and prepping mud samples for micropalentologist and that broke me. I saw that these guys worked for oil companies in skyscrapers. In my unformed brain I thought I would be dragging a mule around Mexico with a pickax in hand. :lau
Now having said that, I don't want to discourage DS. It's a great field, just find out what it's really about. Also, what the kids will be doing in another 23-30 years probably hasn't been invented yet.
