Can anyone tell me if they have more predator problems in the winter or summer months?
We have a secure coop and i'm confident in the run, and we do have fox, coons etc.... We (at least so far KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!!) haven't seen or had any issues with any predators. The flock goes in at night and we close them up and they are out all day while we are at work etc with access to their coop. We've only had them since June and they're only 11 wks. So this will be the first winter with chickens. I didnt' know if winter when food was more scarse was more of a predator problem or if it is just when they feel like it.
i'm sure if they thought they were an easy meal they'd be getting them. Wondered what everyone else has gone through.
Thanks!

I have more problems with predators (mainly racoons) during Fall and winter. However, spring time can be bad if they are trying to feed their young.
