Which celebrities have chickens??

I think it's very interesting that in Seattle and Portland, both very upscale, forward-thinking cities, allow 3 hens within city limits, as do many other places. It's becoming part of a very eco-friendly, green, lifestyle that the cities embrace. On the other hand, when we were house hunting, we were considering homes in the farming community of Mossyrock, WA, and no chickens are allowed there within town limits. I think the town people are trying to present themselves as "upscale."

Hmmm... the communities that already have a reputation for being modern and responsible allow chickens, where the small "wanna-be" community doesn't. I think your council person could learn something from these examples. Does she want your town to BE forward thinking, or does she want to be a WANNA-BE?

p.s. A Seattle group actually has an urban coop tour in July, showcasing their urban/eco friendly hobby. It's called the "Seattle Tilth's Chicken Coop & Urban Farm Tour." I understand that many of the coops are visually really cool and/or quirky. I'm going to try to go this year if my *&$%^* knee will hold up!
