Which chicken breed makes a good indoor bedroom pet?

Not even a complete moron would ram a chicken into a rabbit cage. 🙄
Unnecessarily rude, and also wrong.

A rabbit cage has many uses for chickens:
--small rabbit cage, transport a chicken (just as good as a cat carrier and better than some boxes.)
--larger rabbit cage, just as a good as a dog crate for isolating a sick chicken or a broody hen or doing look-no-touch to introduce a new chicken to a flock.
--at a show, chickens are in cages that look almost identical to a rabbit cage (materials and size.)
--Some rabbit cages are just as large as some chicken coops. In that case, it makes no difference to the chickens whether someone originally thought it was meant for a rabbit. Small chickens (bantams) and small numbers of them, are more likely to be comfortable than large chickens or large numbers of them, but it really depends on what size the pen actually is.

Notice that none of those examples are for housing a bird for life?

That is called a hutch. And to show just how many different "words of wisdom" get thrown around here: I have read in many places here that each chicken requires 4 square feet of coop space? Let us not forget that this size housing needs to be able to fit in OP's bedroom.

I was going to say that this thread sounds an awful lot like another one that was eventually shut down. Not even a complete moron would ram a chicken into a rabbit cage. 🙄
Are you not aware the some rabbit cages are pretty much like small chicken coops? Google can be your friend.

Keep in mind OP never stated that his chicken would be kept in his bedroom in a cage not allowing it to move or see daylight. There are hundreds of people who keep their chickens indoors and it works out perfectly fine. I don't agree with it, I think animals should be kept outside and separate from human dwellings. But OP didn't ask for personal opinions about what everyone thinks about keeping chickens inside his home, just what breed everyone thought was best. Many are assuming that the chicken won't ever see the light of day or have a chance to scratch around in the dirt. OP could spend lots of time outside and want an animal that comes in with him in the evening to cuddle, sleep with, etc. For all most of us know, the chicken may not even be kept in a cage. It's silly and pointless to keep arguing about it. You already see people have already expressed their opinions about it, so if you don't like it then just leave the thread.

For me, personally, it’s about how rude people can be on here. I’m a firm believer people should be called on their behavior when they are clearly wrong. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Yes, they should have left the thread but they didn’t. Saying “only a completed moran” wasn’t right and I called them out on it and now they magically went away. Sooo yayyy???
