I am deciding on which new chicks to get as I am starting another flock. I have bought two new coops and I am putting either Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Wellsummers, or Brahmas in the first coop. Which is a better egg layer, and more friendly? Thanks!

I can vouch for rhode island red hens.

Going with Rhode Island Reds here. My girl is getting a bit up there in age (currently unknown actual age, but suspect around 3) so isn't dropping quite as many eggs as the young'uns, but the eggs she does drop are absolutely massive.

I have quite a few brahmas, they are sweet and fluffy. They are not the most prolific egg layers though, especially compared to the other breeds.
