I am getting 1-2 of these brown speckled eggs a day. I only have 19 hens that are laying. One is a Polish, 2 are EE, 4 RIR, one Brahma, and 4 that I know lay light brown eggs. Of the seven others there is only one that I think is a breed (Welsummer?, the one in the nesting box) that I have read lays speckled eggs. Can someone help me figure out which one I'm wrong on? 4 were bought at a local feed store. The 3 blue ones came together as a set of blue cochin at an auction, and I know that wasn't correct.

Lucky you! I adore speckled eggs 😍 They’re so pretty!

Any chicken can lay a speckled egg now and again. If it’s consistently speckled, it could be your Welsummer. But if it’s just occasional, it really could be any of your birds. I have a Bielefelder and a Wyandotte mix that lay speckled eggs fairly regularly. My Barnevelder and my BCM/RIR mix do, too, but less frequently than the others. Every once in a great while my SLW had dribbled a few cute speckles on the tip of her egg.

We get at least one specked egg a day, and I'm pretty sure that is Berthas egg (the one in the nesting box) but I'd say we get 2 at least twice a week.

One of my girls has just started laying pink tinted eggs (not sure which that is either 🤦🏼‍♀️) and I'm so excited! We only have the 19 laying now, but I have almost 60 growouts coming up that I have raised from babies and I can't wait for them to start laying.

Mine do the same. My BCM does it, so does my SS. They are quite pretty!

Your Welsummer is actually a Welbar.

Is Bertha a Bielefelder? She looks like my Bieles, and one of them does lay speckled eggs.

My GLW, SLW, and blue laced red all lay eggs with a pink bloom on them. So do the mix-breed daughters of the SLW and the BLR. Interestingly my lavender Wyandotte lays nearly white eggs- as does her daughter. So from my experience I’d say it’s likely your Wyandottes that give the pink tint.

That is amazing! You’ll probably have so many differnt colors and patterns of eggs! I have a couple cameras in my coop that I use when I want to know who is laying what. But with as many layers as you have coming up, it might not help, lol!

That was actually my first guess on what she is. Without little ways to be sure, I don't know how to know for sure what she is.
We are in the process of building a new coop and I want a camera in the nesting box so I can keep track of who lays what when they are moved in. Or at least who is laying. There's close to 20 different varieties in the babies (what I call the teens, tenders, and nuggets based on age) because I went a little baby crazy and wanted ALL the pretty babies! Egg color wasn't what I was thinking about at the time. But now that I have so many getting to laying age knowing who is laying or will lay what is helpful.

I absolutely love your age range for your birds. I may borrow it or do something similar. Right now I have 12 that are intubating. 10 2day old chicks and 9 that are 7.5 months.
