Which cochin rooster would you use for breeding

Good for you!

Sounds like you are commited to having good birds!

Thanks I've been working really hard. I'm going flock by flock improving my stock. First was the Ameraucanas, now the Cochins, next is the Seramas, and finally the ducks!!!!

Between the first pics, I like the looks of the blue a lot more than the black. I just don't like how high the blue's tail is.

In the second set of pics, I like the black better. He has a smoother top.

I don't know though... I like the suggestion earlier about using them both.

I also really like the first blue hen that you posted.

Since we're both in GC and have bantam cochins of the same colors, maybe someday we can do a chick/egg swap. lol That is if my girls will ever lay.

Luckily my girls have pretty smooth toplines so I can get some breathing room there, and they all have pretty good wing placement, so again some breathing room The blue is more heavily feathered, and has betther foot feathering. blues are usually higher in the back.... its a blue thing I've noticed and talked about a few times with some other breeders. The deciding factor was which one treated the hens better and the pen has calmed down alot since Jose (the blue) has been in the pen. He's so sweet too..... more of a cochin personality than the black.
