Which Cockerel to choose?

I currently have the choice of either an Australorp or Ancona cockerel to add to my flock of four point of lay girls. Which breed is the better of the two?

Depends on what your personal aesthetic is. One thing that is important to make sure is that the roosters are not aggressive towards humans and hens.

Thanks for you reply. Here's the eldest of the Australorps available. I'm not sure I'm keen on purchasing one without tail feathers. He is free though. Any opinions?

Is the Australorp molting? We had one years ago. He was gentle to the hens and us. The Ancona I never heard of so maybe wait for someone to tell you about the ancona.

The ancona loves to fly, wow! He is pretty and looks very tall when I went to look for one.

Thanks. He is very young so i'm not sure that he's molting. I think I will just pick a roo in person. Apparently there are a few to choose from, including white Australorps which we might prefer. Thanks for the information regarding behaviour of your Australorp.
