I've raised and hatched cochins for 5 years now and I love it. My mother told me that if I joined 4-H (I'm going into 11th grade), and got rid of a few chickens, I could purchase some new chickens to breed and show. I particularily like the black and whites, but still there are 3 beautiful chickens that fit into that category like silver laced, birchen, barred, and columbian. I already have blacks, blues, whites, and partridge but they aren't anything extremely "special". So what do you guys think? I plan on taking this seriously saving the best for breeding as it goes on. By the way, I don't know all of the standards, so if anyone knows what makes any of them a good "show chicken" then please post. Also if anybody is selling hatching eggs of any of these, please post.
