Which dept in Walmart do I find the accurite thermometer-hygrometer?

If you can't find a Styrofoam cooler and can't wait until next summer, you can make one from sheet Styrofoam that is available at Lowes or Home depot. It is in the insulation Dept.
PVC glue or something similar may work as an adhesive.
This way you can make it custom sized. A razor knife cuts it pretty well.

Yeah, I got so frustrated with all four of mine, I finally just decided to trust the Hovabator Genesis 1588, return it to the Factory setting, keep the tray filled by using aquarium tubing and put 2 oz a day in it! No more temp or humidity checks, I use the trust system and have better hatches!

Oh, some people would say use all four and take an average!

I don't know how long ago that store opened, but I work for Wal-Mart and have been with them for 15 years. What store gave you problems? I looked up the items in the computer and this is from the home office for the upc's and item #'s for the acurite's and coolers. Granted that not all stores carry the same items, but the items are active and if they are not in stock they should be able to order the no's I gave in the above post.

Eastport Plaza in Portland Oregon (1 of 2 on 82nd Ave.) The lady in the Garden Center wouldn't even take the time to check....just laughed me off and kept saying "Not at Wal-mart, Not here". She got really snippy with me, informed me she had been there since day 1, and repeated not here. She then turned away and ignored me till I walked off.

I don't want to get her in trouble....but I hope my coming back and showing her that indeed... I did find them (many types) in Her Wal-mart may make her think twice before she blurts out, "Not here" again. LOL

There is good and bad customer service...pretty much no matter where you shop...I am not knocking wal-mart for that.

My point was not to get discouraged if they tell you "Not here"....go find someone else to help you or just wander around till you find em.

I found mine (humidity/thermometer) in the hardware section of Walmart, that is in Michigan though. All the thermometers were there. Hope that helps. It's a Springfield digital. Seems to work well, you need a AAA battery.

I am a member of management in my store and if an associate acts that way to a customer at my store, I will definately call them back to the office and call them on their behavior. If it happens again, go to customer service and ask them to call a member of management and tell them about the associates behavior.

That's what I did for my hatcher. My dad has a ton of the sheet styro laying around, and I lined a cardboard box with it. I just used duct tape for the 'adhesive'

Just make sure to cut it outside...it makes an awful mess!

I'm pretty sure that the PVC pipe glue will work fine for the Styrofoam or the closed cell foam insulation. I'm going to experiment with this during the winter months when I have time to play.
