I am all about the birds. I keep bantams so eggs aren't really a focus for me anyway. I am all about some pretty chickens though! Friendly is a plus too :love I hatch all the eggs I get so it matters not to me what color they are as long as they hatch lol.
I just love my bantams. I'm hoping to add full blood Seramas to my flock this spring but it depends on how many hens I have in this last 9. before I downsized I had 5 roosters too much noise but boys are pretty! These are two weeks old Sunday and all have wing and tail feathers already. My past hatches those ended up hens.it would be awesome if she gave me all girls.. Fingers crossed. It's so hard to find homes for roosters, especially bantam roosters.

Speaking of colorful eggs, my EE Bantam just gave me one of these to stand out amidst all the light brown eggs of my other breeds. Guess she can do it all, pretty inside and outside.

Colourful eggs, but I chose colourful birds by accident on the poll.

I'm trimming down to just two breeds. I find beauty in repetition and matching colours. Admittedly, the two breeds [Partridge Chantecler and Silver Ameraucana] aren't plain, but I'd be good with an all white flock too.

It is often hard to place extra roosters. They are usually the prettiest ones though!

I'll go with both.

I have discovered that I would rather hatch out a surprise of different colored chicks than have a basket of different colored eggs... Anyone else want to chime in.
I figured that those beautiful eggs even though very pretty they are very temporary as compared to those beautiful birds.

Cool idea for a thread! If I'm allowed to chime in with something duck related.... I am getting a couple of Cayuga ducks that are not only iridescent but they also lay black eggs. And my magpies have a chance of laying blue eggs sometimes too. So I don't know, I guess I would rather prefer cool eggs to attract customers and tell the difference between who laid them, but I do enjoy pretty birds too...
send pictures of those eggs when you get a chance.

I prefer pretty egg color, but then again, I haven't come across a chicken I think is ugly, so... I have cream legbars for my layers and I think they are beautiful, even if they all look the same. Now my bantams are a mixed batch of colors.
