That’s good to know! How are they around your farm animals? And cats?Nope. They are funny, loyal people oriented dogs. I've owned 5 over the last 22 years. All rescues.
They are known as the Velcro dogs.

My cat kicks the crap out of all the dogs. And she's 16.5 years old and 6.5 pounds. That’s good to know! How are they around your farm animals? And cats?
People will under estimate a poodle. Standard poodles (my dream dog too) are always in the top 3 (depending on sources) of intelligence. They are excellent watch dogs. And yes they need grooming. If I was in your circumstances (burrs/stickers/thorns) I would check vulnerable areas often eyes/ears/belly. Most are found in winter...so I’d just cut them out. In summer get the dog a buzz cut. Guess if you want the dog you’re willing to care for them. Any dog that has any length to it’s coat will be at risk.If I could stick with my plan of getting a Standard Poodle that would be ideal! I have a good idea of their temperament (which is why I’ve wanted one) but not of their day to day care. So you keep yours on a fairly short cut and that seems to help?
Shhhhhh you’re not supposed to tell people about that!I’ve owned a Shepherd as well, and while I love their temperaments I am not fond of the coats that blow out.
