None of it is true or commercial hatcheries would do it all the time.

Why hatch 50/50 when one gender or the other is preferred 90% of the time (males for meat breeds and females for egg breeds)

The only bird species I know for sure is affected by temperature ranges is the Australian Brush Turkey. There have been a few other studies from various species but I don't think any had conclusive evidence.

Well based on the fact that birds are genetically defaulted to male, any fooling around should kill the females first if the females have a weak gene where the male has two genes.

But that's an educated guess, one of the mallard hatches was almost lost, only 20% hatched and all of the ones that hatched were male... the water ran out day 7 and day 14 and was low day 23 and the temperature spiked to 108 for an unknown time and there was a power outage ("hurricane") for three days in the middle of lockdown/hatch and we 'broke in' (the school was closed for the storms but maintenance was there) and wrapped the incubator in towels and chemical heat sticks.
