yep! At least those were easy to identify! Yeah, I was wondering because the one on the left is a little smaller and Welsh Harlequin are light class where as buff orpington are medium, but I didn't know if maye I just had a smaller buff. Growing up we raised Khaki Campbells and had two with a substantial size difference, so I know it happens. I dunno. I keep looking through duckling pictures online and going back and forth with it. I was just thinking about the logic of yellow ducklings turning into lighter colored ducks. Too bad the little tags that were on their feet hadn't identified them. I'm just going to feel really dumb if I name a Welsh Harlequin Carmela. It doesn't really fit as well. lol
thanks for the site. It's just the pictures like this one that throw me for a loop because have the exact same facial markings as the duckling on the left in my pictures
. Thanks for the help though. I do really appreciat it. Do you think if nothing else the little bit of size difference would be something to go off of?
Okay the one on the left has to be a Welsh Harlequin then because of the size and those little ones are like carbon copies of my little one. Oh boy, I've got to explain to my kids that we miss identified them and we need to switch names. lol. Thanks you guys. It's just the random odd picture when you search images on google that throws me for a loop, but if both of you have the same experiences with ducklings then it can't just be a fluke of breeding stock or something. Maybe some of the pics on google are actually of mixes and not straight buffs then? Thanks again!
This is some of my buff ducklings. I live in Denmark, and I think this is what they look like here and in Germany.
They look more brown-yellow than yours. The eggs are light green by the way.
