Yes, placing an order early, as soon as it's possible to order for next spring, is best. You will be most likely to get the breeds you want, when you want them.
We usually order in December for April shipping from Cackle.

So you cant pre order before hatch season?

Cackle Hatchery is open for orders now for the 2022 season. They stop taking orders for a few months while they adjust pricing and prepare for the new season.

Order early, so the hatchery has the breeds you want, and set up delivery later. By spring, your choices, and delivery dates, will be much less 'user friendly'.
