Gee thanks for rubbing it in! No, I'm just kidding. I am jealous though. Congrats! You set anything in it yet?
By far, the best of my 3 bators is the r-com. Brinea mini is so so, Jano is better and holds more. When I recently got too many quail eggs I piled em in, will see if they hatch!
LOL. I got 4 BBS Orps in it. They've been incubating already for a week. The other 5 eggs I had didn't seem to survive the temp swings in my LG.
P.S. Oh my word, I just finally understood how to respond to a post correctly. I kept hitting the reply button, thinking that would show the original post and it never seemed to work, but ya, you gotta hit the quote button.![]()
I have the LG bator and put the FI egg turner and fan in it, cause Tractor Supply didn't have them in stock, so I went to Rural King. I bought a basic LG, incubated a set of eggs, then decided the next time I wasn't going to turn them by hand anymore. And I had a dragged out hatch, so decided the fan might help. It took a bit of easy wiring up, though, for the fan.I'm using a Farm Innovators 4200 with automatic egg turner. It was a package deal that had a egg candler with it. The Quail rails were made by Little Giant (Flemming Outdoors told me that parts from LG and Farm Innovators automatic egg turners are interchangeable).
Ha Ha! Yes, I do. I thank God I built cheep 8x8 coop hoops. Only cost about $150 for one coop. Now we're building two more -when the weather decides it wants to cooperate, and we're adding an electric fence for their play yard. We're getting rid of our bunnies this week, too, just so we can make more room and concentrate more on our chickens. I don't even care about having too many eggs. To me it's not a money making adventure (other than my Lavender Orps that I want to breed and sell hatching eggs when they get old enough), but a way to share the love of chickens and give back to my community. My neighbors will be happy, and I heard the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter will take free farm eggs. We also have one of those big freezers, so that'll help. Thank God, my human children love devilled (we call them angelled) eggs and chicken, cause we're gonna have a booty load.Hah you are definitely addicted! Do you have O.C.D. Too? Obsessive Chicken Disorder. Too funny!
