I am thinking of getting a couple of goats. Which breed is friendlier. I was thinking of getting wethers. I did want milk goats and was leaning towards Nigis, but I think I need to start out with pets first. DH is worried about more time commitment than I already have with our other pets and my birds. I know milking is a big commitment and can be time consuming. I like to fully research anything before jumping into it because I don't want to be regretful in my decisions later on. Thank you for any suggestions anyone has.

Pygmy you won't regret it (they are better looking and nicer) It's fine to get doe's without a buck but if you want milk you have to get a buck to get her to have babies first. I have 3 doe's 1 buck and a whether they are all super nice even the buck (bottle baby) but my doe's are super nice

My pygmy doe is super sweet, really cute, just a little ornery. Had planned on keeping her with my old, old horse but she prefers to be in the chicken pen (it is about 1/2 an acre) with about 50 chickens.

Aaron, just wondering if you really can milk a pygmy? How much milk do you get?

I love love love my Nigis. They are great, follow me all over. Kiss me through the fence and are so stinking cute.

Both make excellent pets, it all person preference.

I've had both, my preference is the nigerians, if for nothing else I love the colors! Pygmies are fairly limited in colors. But really I like the temperment and personality of the nigis better.

If you are thinking of two, why not get one of each?
