Which is better?

im in Mississippi so being able to withstand the cold is unnecessary, i would like large brown eggs, and i think i kind of want a black or red star.
on the black and red star, does anyone know anything about there attitudes or maybe some pros and cons.

Red and black stars are very calm and loving. So are the ISA browns and all give a good quantity of large to extra large brown eggs. The ISA Brown lay early and longer and don't go broody so if that is important to you go for them. The Stars are more like a heritage breed, as they are a heritage cross, will go out of lay to molt sooner and may slow up considerably in hot or cold weather. So they may go broody too, do you want them to be hatching out chicks for you or would you rather have a steady egg supply and use an incubator if you want to hatch? Stars are bigger birds and can be used as a dual purpose if you want to hatch chicks for meat birds too. Just cross with a heavy roo.

EDIT to add that the ISA brown being a smaller bird needs less feed, and as they lay longer you get a way better cost ratio feed/eggs if that is important to you.

I have red stars - they're great layers and are very friendly. I get eggs from them every day - and I thought I wouldn't during the winter months, but they keep going!

If you want large eggs you want standard. If you want a pet get a dog

Seriously, bantams are adorable but they do not do well in winter. I didn't look to see where you live. My friends that have bantams, and by the way they love them, lose them due to cold.

They also tell me it takes3 bantam eggs to equal 2 standard which really isn't to bad as long as they are laying.

BTW I have one standard in particular that would love to be my pet, she wants me to pick her up and is actually affectionate I do hold her often but it is really cold here now and I am not a winter person, I will play with her come summer. I hope this might help a little.
