13lb roos and 10 lb hens

But it is another case of hatchery versus show quality - I've had plenty people tell me of their hatchery/feedstore Giants look and weight about average.

Otherwise, in true Giants, yeah. . . They're hefty and huge.

It really makes a difference where you buy them. I found many of the hatchery birds I bought were alot smaller than the listed weights.
Birds from good breeders tend to be larger and more impressive to look at and sometimes they have nicer temperemnts. My Jersey Giants from a hatchery were about 5-6 pounds for the hens and 7 - 8 for the roo. My hatchery Brahmas are actually pretty large, about 8 pounds for the hens. I still have some hatchery birds in my layer flock and they lay very well and have nice sweet personalities.

Individuals vary. I got rid of a standard cochin because she was scared and loud and flighty. My Cuckoo Marans is quiet and docile as can be. My Orp is super friendly, and doesn't talk too much.

I think that book lists APA standard weights, I do have a pair of feed store/hatchery white giants that are huge (from my figure they were hatched 3/1 and already weigh about 28 oz. )
