PurpleChicken
Rest in Peace 1970-2018
My first bator was styrofoam with a light bulb 28 years ago.
We recently decided to hatch and after reading a ton of info
will sum in up here:
Best cheap unit under $50:
Little Giant 9200
Best Package under $150:
Little Giant 10200 + 6200 Egg turner
Note: Little Giant has gotten better reviews, mostly on temperature
stability than the Hovabators.
Brower Top Hatch $150 - Good reviews - Wish I tried it.
$200 to $300 go with Brinsea. - The Octagon series is highly
reccomended by a few people on BYC I trust completely.
We started with a 9200. Then added the fan making it the same
as the 10200. We also added the 6200 autoturner (a must).
We just bought a second one since our first is packed.
Our first hatch was amazing. 19 eggs, 11 hatched, 3 or 4 were infertile
and our temps were too high. Thats a VERY high rate.
Good luck,
Don
