Hi everyone,

I have been reading the boards to see what everyone says about incubators, good/bad etc.

I am ready to buy an incubator and based on what I have read on here, the octogon 20 and the hovabator 1588 seem to be highly reccomended. Both of these are in my current affordability price range. But I am stuck on which one to go with.

Other than an old one that I borrowed one time that did not work well this will be my 1st experience with trying to hatch. The only thing I know about hatching is by reading what everyone here says.

My question is, out of the two incubators which one do you feel would be the best for someone like me that is just starting and learning as I go? Right now I am not really to concerned with how many eggs I can fit in the incubator as I am with learning the whole incubating process and getting good at it. I am just not sure which one of the two would be the best one for me to get started with?

Thanks for any suggestions:D

I have several different kinds of incubators, including the octo20 with turner.
If I only had the choice between the two incubators you mentioned, there is no doubt that I would choose the octo20 over the hovabator. Whichever you do decide to purchase, You diffinately want to go ahead and get a turner to go with it. Even without the automatic turner, the octo20 will be much easier to turn the eggs since all you have to do is tilt the incubator to one of its octo designed sides. This is easily done without haveing to open the incubator like you would have to do with the hovabator.

Both are excellent incubators and you will not make a mistake buying either one of the two. Personally, I would buy the GQF Model 1588 Hovabator with Auto Turner 1610. It is an easy to use incubator and ideal for a beginner. I have used both, my results were however better in the Hovabator. Good luck deciding!

Thanks so much for the opinions:D, I am totally stuck on which one to go with ,

both seem to get good reviews, if I had the money I would say the heck with it and buy one of each!!

Octagon 20 beats the pants off any styrobator including overpriced 1588.

Why buy piece of styrofoam, which is hard to sanitize and will fall apart soon if used extensively?

Brinsea is made of heavy duty plastic, dishwasher friendly, longer warranty than styrobator.

No brainer here.

after much research and byc reccomdations I was deciding between brinsea eco and King suro 20. I ended up getting the king, and it's delivering TODAY!!!
