Yes, that is my Cochin roo on eggs. He goes in every morning and 'sets' on eggs while the broody Frizzle girls are out having their time off eggs. Whichever nest he's taken, the broody girl has to wait for him to leave to reclaim her eggs.
He's strange.

What a sweet guy! Keeping those eggies warm while the hen's on a break. You're actually quite lucky. When my girls are broody, my roo won't even let them come down from the nest to get a drink of water. He raises stink with them and sends them back up the ladder.

That is a good roo even if he is a little on the girly side. I would keep him around.

Haaa poor guy is either trying to help or he is way beyond confused about his gender.

He's a nice roo all around. When I first saw him on a nest I thought he might just be scratching around making a mess of the eggs, but he's careful and just sits there every morning and never the same nest (he makes noises but I suspect he's bragging about "what a great guy I am").
He's very virile. He has had a pen of 15-ish girls since I've had him and I've never seen an infertile egg from them. He's usually busybusybusy, but most of his girls are broody. Maybe that's why he's 'resting' and pretending to sit on eggs.
He's silly.

your roo. That is the sweetest darn thing! My big roo, Duke, stays right around the coop when the girls go broody, and he stays right with the babies when they first hatch and wander out. But he's NEVER sat on the nest for any of them. That is just too dadgum sweet!

I had a Silkie roo that would do the same thing. It was like he would guard the eggs while she ate and drank....weird!
