They are looking really good. They are all goldfish, the brown one will eventually color up, I haven't had one not, though occasionally they stay brown for a while. How are you liking them? They could be around for quite a long time with proper care, which it looks like you are providing. I still have most of my original ones I bought back in 2003. They have outlived my dogs, and are big enough to eat, though of course I would never do that.
Gerbils are quick. I was going to originally get a guinea pig, but switched to gerbils for easier maintenance. I currently don't have the time to handle mine or, or I should say I don't want to take the time to handle them, and I felt guinea pigs needed more interaction. I did have one like 30 years ago, but don't remember doing anything with it but feed it. I don't take my gerbils out because they would be eaten by the dogs.
Be sure to share your adventures with a guinea pig if you get one as I will be interested to see how owning one goes for you, so I can do my own planning as far as housing and expected care.
