Which pheasant breed?

Your aviaries look like my wood duck aviaries lol. Half of the time i can hardly see my ducks they stay hid in the thick cover so much.

I started the plantings in 2003, the first pic is summer 2004, middle is summer 2008, & bottom summer 2007. They were removed winter 2009, wasn't my idea or plans. I drove by the place, I guess to torture myself, a few months back. All the trees, bamboo, & shrubs that I planted in and around the aviaries were gone.

I can only imagine/dream/wish what summer 2012 would have looked like...

I have two ringneck pheasants. They are good for beginners. They aren't very calm but they can be tamed. My younger brother is able to hold them. Just don't let them out.....I lost a hen because i was holding her out of her pen. I feed mine once a day. And they live and a small dog pen. And be sure to give them lots of brush to hide in.

I'd agree with Destinduck that goldens, amhersts, and ringnecks would be some of the easiest to start out with. Also some of the least expensive if that's a consideration... There are some really interesting breeds or mutations of the golden as you have seen here on BYC...
