One of the hens didn't make it into the coop last night. I found her this morning laying in the yard. Her head and neck are nothing but bones and lot of her back has been eaten as well.
We lost another hen a couple of weeks ago, but it's injuries were completely different, attacked at the vent but not much eaten.
 
Sorry for your loss. Sounds as if she may have been killed by a raptor. Were feathers scattered around the kill?
