Which rooster breed to add to Buff Orpington flock?

I currently have Buff Orpington hens and absolutely love them! We lost our roo last year and I’d like to add a new nice looking “showy” roo with good temperament. I was looking at Brahmas and Cochins but worried they may be too big for my hens. Any suggestions/opinions on these breeds or even other breeds would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Buff orp is a pretty big breed, i think you would be fine with those choices. As for looks though i would recommend a Wellsummer or Auracauna.

My favorite rooster is Bielefelders, because they’re so friendly and gentle. My rooster Ollie is a gentleman!

I would have to agree with Mikehh. IMO nothing compares to a Biel. Biel’s are great layers and have amazing temperaments.

It all boils down to your reasons for wanting a rooster. I would make a list of “wants” and narrow down from there.
