I’m a first time quail farmer. I now have 2 roosters and 1 hen. The brown rooster overpowers the white one. Thus, the white one got bad head trauma from the brown one, but he survives with some bald spots. They are both mean to the hen when caged together, and obviously mean to each other.

should I cull the brown or the white one?

It depends on what qualities you're looking for. If you have coturnix quail, you do NOT have enough females. The correct ratio is 1 male to 3 to 5 females. A single female will be overbred by a male.

Are you going to breed them? If not, choose the one you like the best to keep. If you're going to breed them, what qualities are you looking for? Is one bigger? Does one have a better personality? Do you like one's colour more than the other? Choose the one that has the qualities that you're looking for.

They are coturnix quails. So yeah. I need to acquire some more females

What are the consequences of overbred females?

Loss of feathers, followed by bloody heads and necks, followed by death. As well as increasing stress and anxiety the entire time for her.

I have an old trio (kinda just letting them live out their days) and even then the male has to occasionally have one of his two hens pulled out so she can heal. The only reason I can get away with a trio is because the male didn't breed much when he was younger and has slowed down even more in his old age. Plus he's pretty gentle for a coturnix, which just seems to mean the girls can go longer peacefully than they could with most other males.
