Which should I trust?

Should I trust the reading on the built in thermo on the Brinsea unit, or the digital thermo that I have laying on top of the eggs?

I wouldn't say that, if they are both withing a degree or so I would leave it be. You could always go and get another thermo/hygrometer and see what that one says.

There was a thread on here about someone that was having the same issues. I would go buy a classic alcohol thermometer and trust that one.
What brand is your thermometer? From my experiences, the Acurites weren't very accurate.

The glass thermometer on the Eco is pretty accurate. That's the one I go by even though I have 2 others in there!!

The Brinsea. That is what I learned in my first hatch.

They are now pretty close... I have decided to trust the Brinsea. I really only have the other one for the Hygrometer.
