Which spray should I use to de-louse my coop/nesting boxes?

Newer chicken owner here, and this is my first experience with lice. I plan to get the Poultry Dust and do all the ladies, but I was reading that a spray is more effective for the coop and nesting boxes. Is there a spray anyone would recommend?

Thanks!

I've tried flea bombing them out, or also spraying with pyrethrum or painting with kerosene. Personally, I have never tried these, I use poultry dust and mix a bit of water in to paint it on

My chickens had mites and I used Seven 5 dust on them & the coop. Cleared up the problem in no time! (Don't forget to hold your chickens upside down to dust them thoroughly under their wings!)

never had the problem but i've heard a good dusting in lime will work. powder form. dust the chickens and coop. get the dust bath too. or leave a pile of it so they can dust themselves. not sure how well it works on chickens with lice and mites personally, but it does wonders for getting rid of fleas in a barn or under a house.

EDIT: might also try ugenta oil. it clogs up the breathing pores of insects. it is perfectly safe for anything bigger than a big roach. made from assorted plant oils. smells like vicks rub.

diatomaceous earth works good for me. non toxic to the birds but lethal for insects. I even use it to kill ants around my fruit trees.

I have heard this is the best answer and will not harm the chickens. my mom swears by this as a pest deterrent on her vines and shrubs.
