need help!! took bowl of water out and humidity dropped to 50.......springfield thermometer is reading temp of 99.1 but the thermometer that came with bator is about 100.2 and i set my eggs at 5:10 this am....what do i do? how bad is this?????????

No big deal. Thermos are always off. The location of the thermo makes a
big difference too.

What bator are you using?

hovabator 2362 with a turner. i have both of the thermometers on top of the eggs..they're silkies and i'm a first timer

First time for silkies?? You are doomed. Throw them away now.

Since they are only off a little I would just average them out. The thermos
that come with most bators are junk.

As for your humidity 50% is fine for the first 18 days. After that I bump up
to 60-70%.

You do know that a silkie and nonsense are the same thing right? You really
want more nonsense?

I hatch at 100 - so either is still ok --

I have had trouble with purchased expensive thermometers being off --- but consider the first group a test group --you are going to have to find out what works for you in your incubator -based on what state , what city, your house -If you get a hatch then you know to mark that as your hatch temp -- You are already doing something I haven't done in 3 - 4 years and that is marking humidity- I dry hatch - One drop of water and I know I am getting zippo --- the "rules" are guide lines and they are very adjustable --

You aren't doomed. That's just a little joke. Silkies are evil. They
take over your mind.
