Which type of wire would you choose for run?

We're building our new chicken run and I'm trying to decide on the type of wire to use for it. The choices are between a "yard, garden & kennel wire" that has 2"x2" mesh and is 16 gauge OR a welded wire that has 2"x4" mesh and is 14 gauge. Which gauge is strongest, the 14 or the 16? Which one would you use? TIA!

The lower the gauge number is the thicker the wire is.

Thanks, I was leaning towards the 14 gauge wire because I thought it was the stronger of the two. We have it on part of our existing run and it has worked well. Guess there's no reason to change, even though the mesh is smaller with the other kind of wire.
